I’m not even sure how a microwave can get so insanely disgusting, but it does. Splats, spills, and who knows what start to cake on and build up over time. Our microwave was awful until I figured out this 2 minute microwave cleaning hack that you have to see!
I despise cleaning! I am not a clean freak and I am definitely not Type A. I reserve my cleaning for once a blue moon and then I am usually pretty disgusted with the job at hand. Per my usual, we had an even this last weekend and we needed to get our house clean. I couldn’t stand looking at the disgusting microwave any more and needed to figure out a quick way to clean it.
The thought of putting in elbow grease was not something I looked forward to. I knew there had to be a better way.
That’s when I decided to read up on my new essential oils and see what I could use to clean the microwave quickly and without nasty chemicals.
I found out the Lemon Essential Oil is pretty amazing. Want to clean your microwave in under 2 minutes? Here’s how!
How to Clean Your Microwave in 2 Minutes
What You Need for your Microwave Cleaning Hack
1 wet sponge
Spray Bottle
4-5 drops of Lemon Essential Oil
Water
In your spray bottle mix 1-2 cups of water and your Lemon Essential Oil. Shake it well before using. (I have learned this mixture is awesome for so many things!)
How to Clean Your Microwave in 2 Minutes
Step One: Spray your entire microwave with your lemon water mixture. You can’t wet it down too much. Be sure to get the top and sides.
Step Two: Wet your sponge thoroughly and place it in the center of your microwave.
Step Three: Turn on your microwave for 2 minutes. Once the timer is finished, wait for your sponge to cool before touching it! (this might take around 2 more minutes)
Step Five: Using your wet sponge, wipe the microwave. There shouldn’t be anything you have to scrub. I kid you not, it all just melted away. It was the coolest thing to see!
In fact, I wanted to clean everything! Which is unheard of!

What a nice and natural way to clean a microwave! Thanks for sharing! I clean my kitchen appliances with 50:50 vinegar and water! It works! I also add around 10-15 drops of essential oil it has a nice smell and kills the strong smell of vinegar. I hope I helped, too! Greets!
Can I use a different scent other than lemon? I don’t have any on hand at the moment
Any citrus should work.
