We absolutely love making play dough. If you are a regular here you know just how much we make it. Just the other day, even, my mother in law was over and asked what we could possibly use all this play dough for. I just kinda giggled and told her… well, you know… you can never have enough play dough.

How to Make the Perfect Dye Free Natural Play Dough Recipe

The first step is to make your favorite play dough recipe and divide it into 6 equal parts.

Add 1-2 tablespoons to each ball of play dough. This part is where you get your hands just a tad messy. Mix each one up individually.

The colors are so fun! I was so surprised at just how pretty they turned out. I will warn you… the tumeric can make the play dough a little thick but it still has a lovely texture. The only color that wasn’t as bright as I would have liked was the blueberry powder for blue. Next time I make this I might have to try a different material to color the dough. I would love any suggestions you have!

Super B (age 2) can’t wait to dig in and play with these tomorrow. She loves the way they smell, too! It’s good to know that we don’t have to worry if she decides to stick a little in her mouth since there are no artificial food dyes or any weird ingredients.

I discovered “lemon lime adventures” purely by accident! Now, I’ve spent nearly 2 hours reading all of your clever ideas and methods for making play dough. As a teacher of young babies in a childcare center (I’ve worked with babies for nearly 46 yrs), I have spent a good while, learning many, many ways to introduce SAFE textured mediums to children who generally, mouth everything they can grasp! It delights me to know, that I can extend our play dough play further with all of your ideas/recipes. Of course, I will pass along your FB a page to my friends who are in need of a link to fun ways to play with children.
