It never fails, the temperatures drop and my immune system seems to take a kick in the pants. It seems like every day I am waking up with new sniffles or new sinus pressure to worry about. I am constantly on the watch to make sure we stay healthy and strong, while remaining chemical free in our home. I have to tell you about this new immune boosting tea that I just discovered!
I want to start by saying, although I am a naturalist and live a very natural lifestyle full of cloth diapers, homemade wipes, and chemical free cleaners, I am still very much a skeptic when it comes to some holistic approaches to health. Recently, we joined the essential oil movement after a lot of thought and a whole lot of skepticism on my part.
We had heard so many positive things about the healthy benefits of oils and how they could help everyone in our family live a healthier, more peaceful life. So, I decided to jump in and try them. This didn’t mean I was on board, yet though.
My husband is pretty much my guinea pig for anything related to essential oils. He will tell me of something he would like to strengthen or help, I’ll look it up in my handy “oil bible” and then I will try out whatever concoction is suggested. A few weeks ago, when he started to feel a tad under the weather and felt he needed an immunity boost, we found a crazy tea recipe in my essential oil support group that seemed perfect for the job.
I kid you not, when I tell you my husband was feeling better than ever within 30 minutes of drinking this tea. I thought he had gone mad and was completely taken over by the placebo affect.
Fast forward to tonight. For the last two months, I have slowly been seeing more and more benefits from my starter kit of essential oils and after a long week and the first fall of snow, I felt it was time to try to boost my immune system. Can I admit, I was a little scared to try it?
Normally I make the tea for my husband but tonight, he decided to whip up 2 mugs of hot tea for the two of us and I have to tell you, I was pleasantly surprised. Here’s the recipe.
Immune Boosting Tea
1 cup of your favorite herbal tea
1 Drop of Each of the Following Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oils
* Frankincense
* Peppermint
* Theives
2-3 Drops of Therapeutic-Grade Lemon Essential Oil
Just a tad bit of Raw Honey (to taste)
Without even tasting the tea, I could see (or rather, smell) why this was so popular. Immediately, I could smell the peppermint and my nose started to clear and I started to feel refreshed and awake. Then came the first sip… I was nervous that it would taste like some sort of elixir, but to my surprise it was actually really refreshing.
As I sit here now, I had to tell you about this discovery because, honestly I might have just found my new favorite winter tea recipe! This tea can be consumed as often as you like. Not only will your immune system be happy each time you drink it, you will want to drink it because it makes you feel that good (at least it makes me feel great!).
One thing to be sure, is that you use therapeutic-grade essential oils. There are many companies to choose from, however we love this company and the quality of the oils we are using. All of the oils in this recipe can be found in the premium starter kit that we purchased just a few months ago.
If you’re interested in getting a starter kit of some of the most useful essential oils and essential oil blends, then I’m offering a special sale just for Lemon Lime Adventures readers this month!
BUT, it is the new year, so I’m offering this great batch of freebies through January 31st only!
If you get a premium Young Living starter kit (which is, on its own, a really great deal at $150)…
Here’s to a healthy winter full of energy and strength! Do you have a favorite winter immunity boosting recipe or trick? I would love to hear!

Think it’ll still be beneficial if I remove the peppermint?
I used it to decrease my breast milk supply earlier in our nursing relationship so I don’t want it to effect my supply again
The rest of the oils are good/safe for nursing to my knowledge yes?!
What is awesome about the oils is that you can alter the formula and still see benefits. We actually just ran out of peppermint and the tea is still really great! I would feel comfortable using these other oils if I were pregnant!
