10 Lego Gifts Kids Can Make

It is NO SECRET that we love LEGO around here! Just the other day, my oldest son put together his 1100 piece At-At walker in under 2 hours. LEGO is pretty much all we live and breathe some days, or at least it feels like it. We love learning with LEGO, playing with LEGO, and even creating LEGO gifts kids can make on their own.

LEGO GIFTS KIDS CAN MAKE

In our house, we do not put an emphasis on gift giving. In fact, you can read about our alternative gift giving guide to understand a little more. One thing we do love to do is make gifts. Whether it is birthday, Christmas, or just because… there is something special about a gift from the heart and a gift that had thought and effort put into it. Today, we have gathered up our favorite LEGO gifts and we think you will like them too!

Awesome Lego Gifts Kids Can Make

This year, the boys are planning to make Lego Calm Down Jars for all of their cousins, because they love theirs so much!

One of our favorite crafts last year, were Lego Snow Globes. We had some requests for personalized jars this year from friends and neighbors, so this is back on our list to do this year.

What Grandma or Grand-Dude (that’s what we call him) wouldn’t love a Lego Frame with the latest drawing or photo from the kids?

If you have a kid that loves sensory play as much as mine do, they will love making and giving these Lego Travel Sensory Bins.

For Father’s Day, the boys made Lego Cuff-links for all the men in the family and they were the hit of the party!

We have not made Lego Soap Bottles yet, but when the boys saw them the other day, they wanted to know what we were waiting on.

We love the idea of Lego Bracelets for both friends, moms, and grandmas. I know I would sport one of these if the kids made them for me (hint: hope Papa Bear is reading this).

If bracelets aren’t your thing, someone you know is sure to love this adorable Lego necklace!

I am pretty sure if a student had brought me this Lego pencil holder as a gift, I would have given them As the rest of the year. Kidding. (Kind of).

Finally, last but not least, if you know someone that loves candy, your kids might love making them this amazing Lego Candy Dispenser.

Before you tell me that your kids would tear these apart to get to the LEGO , or your kids would be the opposite of calm if you put a LEGO figure in a jar… I want to tell you my son is a tad obsessed. Part of having sensory processing disorder means that he is unable to be flexible with things others might not understand. When we first made our LEGO calm down jars, I was sure he would be upset. However, he wasn’t.

Kid Made Lego Gifts

In fact, it has become quite clear as we continue to manipulate his LEGO (like in slime and other fun activities) he rolls with the punches. I have come to the conclusion that it is mostly due to the fact that he has control. He is the one choosing the LEGO that go in each craft, he is the one choosing what craft is made, and he is the one choosing who we give them to.

So, I want to oencourage you to try. If you think your child will be upset, talk to them about it. If you think they will meltdown when you make these for them… involve them.

Try those tips and let me know how it goes. Because, honestly, how cool are some of these LEGO gifts kids can make on their own?

  1. What Lego-loving kid wouldn’t love making these? I suppose the only problem would be convincing them to give away the Legos, lol!
