25 Must-Follow Parenting Blogs

Parenting is hard. Period. There is no easy road. No easy solutions. No one perfect way to parent. Yet, it seems everywhere you turn there is another “expert” telling you what you should and should not do with your children and they ALWAYS conflict. So who are you supposed to turn to when you need to not feel so alone? Where should you look for real parenting advice and stories? I have gathered up 25 of my favorite parenting blogs that I have grown to love and adore over the last year and I think you will love them too!

 The Best Real Parenting Blogs

This week, I am celebrating my first year of blogging by sharing some of my favorite resources and blogs with you! If you read my story about how and why I started blogging you know that I never read blogs before this year and didn’t know many of these even existed. Wait, I didn’t know ANY of these blogs existed last year.

What I absolutely love about each and every one of these blogs is that they are real! They share down to earth tips, real life stories, and most of them share the good, the bad and the downright ugly so we don’t feel so alone.

Some of these are bloggers that I have had the pleasure of getting to know personally and some are just simply amazing site that you have to know about!

Parenting Blogs I Love, Admire, and Respect

{and I’ve had the honor of meeting}

Dirt and Boogers

Amanda is an amazing mom was a Mental Health Counselor who worked with children and mothers in both individual and group counseling environments before becoming a Stay at Home Mom to two boys. She was the very first blogger I ever reached out to and she is the reason I am blogging today. When I first “met” Amanda, she ran a series called the “Sunday Parenting Party“. Every sunday, bloggers around the web would link up their most recent parenting posts. This was just the push I needed to share my real stories and stay true to the purpose behind my blog.

Dirt and Boogers is nothing short of amazing. Amanda shares down to earth advice about motherhood, parenting, and intentional play. She is most known for her No Yelling Revolution she has started, and her No Yelling Facebook group that is over 8,000 members strong.

Creative With Kids

Can you believe that Alissa was one of the first bloggers to comment on my posts. Little did I know then what an amazing and talented blogger she was. We instantly connected over our ‘angry’ children and have continued to build a relationship over the last year. If you are looking for well written,  very real parenting solutions, than Creative with Kids is your spot!

My favorite posts from her include Banishing the Should Mama and 100 Ways to Be Kind To Your Child.

 Mama Smiles Blog

What’s not to like, even about the name of this blog? As the name implies, Mary Anne shares Joyful Parenting featuring experiences, products, and activities that encourage parent-child bonding, create fun learning opportunities, inspire positive sibling relationships, and build happy, healthy, connected families. If you are a regular here, you are familiar with our goals series, and MaryAnne is the mastermind behind this series. I love how she keeps me in check and helps me live a little more focused life!

One of my favorite posts: Raising Kids Who Get Along

Moments a Day

I can not say enough good things about Moments a Day and the encouraging things that you will read on Chelsea’s blog. She shares simple ideas for families to connect, build character, & make a difference.  From simplifying your home to reading real stories of motherhood and parenting, this is a blog that will have you wanting to grab a coffee and stay awhile.

Reformed Idealist Mom

Kelly is a woman of my own heart. She recently became a SAHM and full-time blogger and has an amazing blended family that she gets to write stories about. I love reading her stories of parenting, mothering and even her adventurous and off the cuff ideas for vacationing for free. From tips for dealing with a anxious child to helping a child feel more confident, Kelly has the perfect way of giving tips while sharing her wit and humor. I am pretty sure you will love her just as much as I do.

ALLterNATIVELearning

As soon as I was introduced to Kara at ALLterNATIVElearning, I instantly fell in love. Her blog is everything I love in life. It is intentional learning, natural parenting, sustainable living, and positive thinking. Kara has a BIG BLOG in a little shell, right now, just waiting to be discovered. She runs a weekly tot-school series, shares bradley method tips, and writes parenting and motherhood posts from the heart!

Beauty Through Imperfection

This is a fairly new blog to me, but has been around for a long time and is an amazing resource for parents and mothers. Paula is a faith based writer who shares stories from her own imperfect life to show how the beauty of God’s grace can be seen shining through the struggles and imperfections. She shares everything from dealing with toddler tantrums to public schooling at home. Definitely not a blog you want to miss.

A Mother Far from Home

This is the absolute newest parenting blog for me to follow, but I am in complete awe! Rachel has a way of writing that draws you in and makes you want to read more, all the while nodding your head as you read. Honestly, I am not sure there is a single post I have read lately, that I didn’t want to plaster everywhere and share with anyone I knew. I see big things in this one’s future! You will want to follow along, so you don’t miss the incredible things she does! If you are a looking for a place to start, I would start with her post about why your husband is not doing you any favors.

Pint-sized Treasures

Although I just recently started following Allison’s blog more intently, I can say that Pint Sized Treasures is a place where you will find thought provoking parenting posts and will be encouraged to build a happy house hold through her uplifting posts and encouraging words. If patience is an issue for you, Allison shares some wonderful tips on how to be a more patient mom.

Your Modern Family

I can always count on Becky at Your Modern Family to provide a thought provoking parenting topic in a way that makes me want to read more and learn about both sides of the topic. She has the amazing ability to draw you in to her posts and then keep you there once you get there. Becky’s most popular posts include posts about bedtime for babies and children and bedtime for adults. All of these posts have one thing in common, honesty. No matter the topic or the point of view, I can expect honesty and well written thoughts on the topic.

Not Just Cute

I love everything about Amanda’s site, Not Just Cute. As the name implies, she shares activities, parenting tips and resources that are not “just cute” but have value and objectives. The teacher in me is smitten with her ability to articulate her thoughts about education and translate that into thoughtful and well-educated parenting advice. Some of my favorite posts of hers are Developmentally Appropriate Practices and her post on the myth of Perfect Parenting.

Abundant Mama

I have so much to learn from Shawn at Abundant Mama, I am not sure where to begin. Her focus is on savoring slow and banning busy so that you can soak in the moments in your life before they pass you by. I first fell in love with Shawn’s site through her post about anger and her tips to stop yelling. However, over the last few months I have come to love so much more about her and her blog. I can not think of any other blog that inspires me to focus and center my attention more than Abundant Mama.

Toddler Approved

While Toddler Approved sounds like a site dedicated to all things toddlers, Kristina has such insight into parenting and education that she is a must follow parenting blog. I can say that anytime she posts a new parenting article, I head over to check it out because I know that it will be stuffed full of insightful tidbits and tips. I feel connected to her and her family through her retellings of her daughters struggles with anxiety and tantrums and find comfort in each of the posts she shares. Her debunking super mom post was one of the first parenting post I read when I became a blogger and took the words right out of my mouth (except more eloquently).

Let’s Lasso the Moon

Let’s Lasso the Moon was one of the first blogs that I absolutely fell in love with, definitely one of the first I subscribed to. Zina has the uncanny ability to see creativity in the world around her and share that with her readers. She is always finding the most amazing quotes and is always inspiring me to be a more creative me. From modern parenting solutions to capturing childhood and family moments through photography, Zina shares her out of this world take on life. Carve out some time, because you are going to want to hang around, look at her amazing photography and get engulfed in her sense of life. Don’t say I didn’t warn you, if you get lost for hours over there.

Picklebums

At Picklebums, you will find everything from creative play-based learning activities to spot on parenting advice. Kate has a wonderful talent for fostering creativity and independence through her posts. I absolutely love her post about alternatives to Good Job and how being a not quite perfect parent makes you a good parent.
