Are you as excited as I am about the upcoming release of the new Star Wars Movie? We’ll probably skip the sensory overload at the movie theater and opt for watching it at home, so I wanted to come up with some fun Star Wars-themed snacks to enjoy while watching the movie. This Star Wars party mix is going to keep everyone happy!
I tried to add lots of contrasting flavours and textures, as well as a decent balance of healthy and indulgent. I find my kids are more than happy to try something healthy like a new nut or dried fruit, if I mix it in with something a bit more fun!
(If you’re looking for completely healthy option, you’re going to want to check out our Star Wars Trail Mix.)
Also, being the nerd that I am, I picked a few fun ingredients to play on the Star Wars theme – see if you can figure them out from the picture before I share the recipe below.
Out of This World Star Wars Party Mix
Obviously, being a party mix, you can swap out any items that are just not a good fit for your family or increase or decrease the amount of one item to suit your preferences.
What You Need for Amazing Star Wars Party Mix:
- 2 cups Muesli base (whole grain flakes, dried raisins, banana chips, dried apple & apricot pieces)
- 1/2 cup Hazelnuts
- 1 cup Pretzel sticks
- 1/4 cup Candy rocks
- 1/4 cup Cola balls
- 1/4 cup Dried green peas
- 2 Tablespoons Silver candy pearls (“dragees”)
- 2 Tablespoons Star sprinkles
- 1 box Red, green, and blue Mike & Ike’s
How to Make This Simple Star Wars Party Mix
I didn’t really measure out any of the party mix ingredients, I just added what looked like a reasonable amount and played around until I found that every handful really had a good variety and struck a good healthy-indulgent balance. I intended to add some yogurt-covered raisins to the mix, but a certain little miss got to them before I could mix them in!
Unlike this healthier version of Star Wars Trail Mix, this is pure fun and excitement! Just a little bit of sugar to make the perfect party mix!
If you are enjoying this Star Wars party mix with true fans, you can test their Star Wars knowledge and see what they come up with for the different ingredients. Which planets could the green peas or hazelnuts be? (Utapau and Tatooine?) Or what do the little silver dragees (balls) represent? The Mike & Ike’s?
And, if you had a bit of extra time, it would be cute to decorate the pretzel sticks as little light sabers, as seen in our 18 Star Wars Lightsabers post.
Are you looking forward to the new Star Wars movie? How will your family be enjoying it together?
