Hey there. I am so glad you are here.

Before I tell you more about me, I want to start by letting you know something I wish someone told me years ago...

You are not alone!

My name is Dayna. Despite being a National Board Certified teacher with a background in Early Childhood, I spent the first 7 years of parenting thinking I was alone and terrible at parenting. It has become my mission to never let another parent feel this way.

I am a mom, a daughter, a sister, a wife and an educator.

I grew up in the south, got married at a very young age and experienced things early on that no child should have to go through. Many of my life experiences could have broken me, but instead I chose to embrace the crazy adventures in my life and look for the sweetness hiding behind all the ugly, messy and sour days. I never knew just how much this would prepare me for the crazy days in the classroom, the ups and downs of marriage, and parenting my own intense child.

For over 12 years, I was an early childhood educator in the public school setting. My passion was reading, science, and project based learning. I taught everything from preschool to first grade until I came home to homeschool my children (after realizing my oldest son didn't "fit" in school). I like to say I spent those 12 years trying to teach and nurture children from all walks of life without any real knowledge of sensory systems. This didn't stop me from loving the most intense and challenging kids in my classroom (I just didn't know why I loved them so much until much later).

Much like many of you, I was never told there were more than 5 sensory systems, and I was for sure never told about the effects of the sensory systems on behavior and navigating life. I had for sure never heard of sensory processing disorder and had limited experience with autism. It wasn’t until I had a child in my blended preschool classroom that had a formal diagnosis of SPD that I started to see connections between this child, other children I taught and more importantly, my own son (who was 5 at the time).

Little did I know at the time, I would end up dedicating my life to sensory processing, intense emotions and embracing kids that don't "Fit". I have made it my mission to learn as much as I possibly can, and in turn share as much information with others that I can humanly fit into my schedule.

Dayna Abraham Family

I am the mom to three amazing superkids. Super B is full of energy and spunk, Bones is the most empathic, loving child you will ever meet, and Legoman has the curiosity and brain power that rivals any superhero. Each one of my kids have their own superpowers that make them who they are. It is because of them that I push through the ugly days, keep searching for answers on the baffling days, and squeeze in simple connections to make memories that will fill both their cup and mine.
