Losing control is one of the most frustrating aspects of being a parent.
It leads to nagging, yelling, and constant reminders that can wear anyone down.
As many of you know, I am an admitted yeller and have been working on creating a calmer, more peaceful home for the last year.
Although we have had some great success as a family, there are days where I am frustrated and at my wits end.
I am ready to end power struggles with no more yelling.

I dream of a day when we won’t be able to remember yelling from anyone in our house (me or my children).
As a teacher for 12 years, I know how important it is to have a toolbox of strategies ready to use and how important constancy is.
But, it seems now that I am out of the classroom and home with my own children (one of which can get pretty angry himself), I tend to forget all of the simple, positive discipline strategies that I used in the classroom.
As we approach the new year, I am ready. Ready to end power struggles without yelling!
I am looking to reclaim my calm voice and restore some peace to my home, but I can’t do it alone.
I am super excited to partner with Amy McCready, founder of Positive Parenting Solutions & TODAY Show contributor to offer a FREE LIVE training webinar on April 25th, at 1pm EDT.
Parents of children ages 2.5 – teens will discover:
- WHY kids REALLY misbehave (and why it’s probably NOT what you think!)
- How YOUR personality may actually FUEL the misbehavior (Yikes!)
- Why time-out, punishment and “Because I said so!” backfires with today’s kids
- The truth about consequences: the 5 R’s every parent needs to know to get kids to listen the FIRST time you ask
- Simple strategies to get more cooperation and less complaining
During this FREE one hour webinar Amy will help us to learn why kids act out and teach us simple, positive discipline strategies to encourage our kids to listen and do the right thing. I don’t know about you, but I can use all the help I can get and a whole hour with someone who has strategies that work, sounds right up my alley.
The best part, is that I don’t have to go anywhere, I don’t have to read some book I’ve never heard of, I don’t even have to get dressed up. Nope, I can sit on my couch after I get the kids in bed, get comfy and soak up all the tips I can.
The last time I attended one of these webinars, I was shocked at how much I learned and how much I was nodding my head at. Amy is right there the whole time, giving tips and answering as many questions as she can. She is the only one on camera, although I will be there at the computer the whole time during the live chat, so you won’t be alone.
What do you think?
Tired of the yelling? Tired of the whining? Tired of being tired?
You’re not alone. Let’s take this chance to reclaim our calm voices and restore some peace to our homes. Together, we will discover proven tools for our most frustrating discipline dilemmas including the 5 R’s of Fair & Effective Consequences.
Finally, if you are thinking… “but my kid has special needs”, “but my kid can’t listen”, “but I’ve heard it all before” I want to encourage you to still join me for this webinar and see if you find anything useful. How I see it, even if you find only one tip that is useful, it will be worth its weight in gold.
Again, be sure to RSVP today for a free parenting webinar. It is an opportunity to pick up a few new parenting tools from the comfort of your home. If you need to hear more about these awesome webinars, 2 of my favorite parenting bloggers, Amanda at Dirt and Boogers and Zina at Let’s Lasso the Moon, have both worked with Positive Parenting Solutions and love everything they have learned!
Parenting expert and “recovering yeller” Amy McCready is the Founder of Positive Parenting Solutions and the author of If I Have to Tell You One More Time…The Revolutionary Program That Gets Your Kids to Listen Without Nagging, Reminding or Yelling.
