Totally Delicious Unicorn Bark

My house has been hit with a craze for all things unicorn. It’s perfect timing as we’re getting ready for spring! The weather is slowly getting warmer, the flowers are blooming, and I’ve found a ton of tasty unicorn treats to make and share with my kids! This totally delicious unicorn bark is super simple to make and it’ll definitely be a hit with the kiddos!

I love making some unicorn bark in the afternoon while my kids are at school, so it’s ready for us to snack on when they get home. I mean, everyone is hungry after the school pickup line!

Totally Delicious Unicorn Bark

This unicorn bark recipe is so simple that any mom can make it, and every kid is going to love it. I mean, it’s a mix of candy and marshmallows. What’s not to love?

What You Need to Make Totally Delicious Unicorn Bark

1 bag of white candy melts
1 bag of purple candy melts
1 bag of pink candy melts
1 bag of blue candy melts
1 bag of each pink, blue, and purple sixlets
1 container of each pink and purple sugar sprinkles
12 pieces of the rainbows, horseshoes, and hearts from a box of lucky charms
wax paper
cookie sheet

How to Make Totally Delicious Unicorn Bark

Cut out a piece of wax paper to fit the bottom of the cookie sheet

Melt the white candy melts using a double boiler

Pour onto the cookie sheet with the wax paper

Melt the purple candy melt and then dollop some purple around the white candy melt

Totally delicious unicorn bark!

Melt the pink candy melt and the dollop around the white and purple

Do the same with the blue candy melt

Take a butter knife or tooth pick and swirl all the candy melts combined

Sprinkle the sixlets, marshmallows and sprinkles all over the bark.

Put in fridge for 15 minutes until hardened.

Totally delicious unicorn bark!

Break the unicorn bark into pieces and then enjoy!

I know you have the best intentions.
I know youre asking cause
you really care about how their day went.

But sometimes... how was your day? is just a dead end.
It invites those one word responses and
It doesnt always set you up for real interaction.

👉Instead, try something a little open-ended.
Ask a question that will make em think,
that creates conversation and connection.

Asking about a specific event, subject, person, feeling, etc.
shows youre ready to hear about the details -
That youre truly interested in what they have going on -
& thats a great way to connect after a long day!

When a child says, Homework is the worst!, a typical parent response might be something like,

Learning is a good thing.” or “Schools the most important!

But have you ever considered joining them in their temporary misery?

Instead of the usual pep talk, try: Yeah, I get it. I didn’t enjoy homework either.

Or maybe, Sometimes, it does feel like they give too much, doesn’t it?

At first, this might seem like youre fueling their negativity, but its quite the opposite. What youre doing is showing empathy.

Youre telling them, I see you.

The goal here is to convey understanding.

Its about letting them know that you recognize their feelings and struggles at that particular moment.

Challenging behaviors in kids often escalate because they feel misunderstood. They might think, No one gets how tough this is for me.

And then they intensify their actions, trying to make you see just how miserable they are.

And being able to offer understanding (Yes, I see why youre overwhelmed or upset.) is golden because it makes your child or teen feel seen and heard.

So, the next time they gripe about something? Maybe, just for a moment, join the resistance.
