How to Make Simple Mini Minnie Cupcakes
As I mentioned before, my daughter and I love to cook together and make treats. The minute she got out the Disney Minnie Bowtastic Kitchen Playset, she noticed the tiny pretend cupcakes and served them up to me. She didn’t stop there! She asked if we could make some cupcakes, too. How could I possibly resist?
After pretending to make lunch with our play set and then actually eating lunch, we had worked up quite the desire for a very special treat. I’d like to add, we don’t add something like this to every meal, so my daughter knew just how special this treat was. Step One| Gather Your Ingredients This is perfect for early learning and some bonding time. You can have your little one read the box and you gather the goodies or the other way around. Either way, the excitement is sure to build.
Step Two | Mix the Ingredients for the Cupcakes This is as simple as it sounds. Follow the directions on the box for the perfect cupcakes every time! For this activity, my daughter couldn’t wait to put on her new Minnie Mouse Toddler Girl Tee and Skirt Outfit Set from Walmart. To be honest, I was pretty excited too, because this meant she got to be adorably cute while I didn’t have to worry about her clothes getting messy or dirty. The outfit was so affordable, I was at ease doing messy activities with her.
Step Three | Mix in Some Mommy Silly Time I’m not one to really be photographed much, but we were having so much fun I had to get at least one shot of our silly time!
Step Four | Prepare the Cupcake Tray Since we were making Minnie cupcakes, we thought pink would be the perfect cupcake liner for these cupcakes. We worked together to pour the mix into each liner and filled it to about 2/3 full. I am pretty sure there were a few licks of the spoon in there too. Now, you just have to back and wait for the cupcakes to cool. (The perfect time for nap!)
Step Five | Decorate the Cupcakes This step is one of the best parts of making the cupcakes. Using a dot or two of pink food coloring, tint your frosting and apply liberally to each cupcake. Next, open a mini Oreo, clean off the cream, and place each side into the top of the cupcake like ears. Now, cut a strawberry airheads to size and fold over the ends to resemble a bow. Use just a tad more airhead to wrap around the center for the final touches of the bow and attach to the cupcake. Finally, sprinkle a few of the pearl icing beads on the top and Voila… You have Mini Minnie Cupcakes.
Step Six | Eat and Playtime with Mommy and Daughter Remember how I said my daughter wants to BE Minnie Mouse? Well, now she can with her awesome Minnie Bow-Tique Fancy Bows Dress with Headband we got at Walmart with all our other Minnie Mouse clothes and the Disney Minnie Bowtastic Kitchen Playset. Of course, now my daughter wanted to BE Minnie and deliver her Minnie cupcakes from our Minnie kitchen. Minnie, Minnie, Minnie… you just can’t have enough Minnie if you are my two year old daughter!
More Awesome Mommy and Daughter Play Date Ideas
Play Kitchen | Well this isn’t hard to do, now that we have our new Disney Minnie Bowtastic Kitchen Playset. You don’t have to make real cupcakes to play Minnie chef. In fact, the playset comes with tiny cupcakes and plates and even makes adorable sounds that seem so realistic. My daughter loves washing the dishes in the sink because it makes dripping noises and flowing sounds.
Play Dress-Up | Go ahead, put on the Minnie ears, let your daughter wear the Minnie Bow-Tique Fancy Bows Dress with Headband and have a Minnie Mouse playdate. Believe me, you will love what your daughter looks like in her costume if she looks anything like mine did.
Have a Special Treat | Someone has to eat those adorable cupcakes we just made, right? In addition to a healthy lifestyle and lunch options, we like to add in a little treat every once in a while and these mini cupcakes were perfect with a nice glass of milk.
Go to the Park | Everyone loves getting outside and playing together. With this awesome new Disney Minnie Mouse Toddler Girls’ Peplum Tunic and Leggings Outfit Set, Super B can be both comfy and adorable at the same time. Its a win-win.
Read a Book | At the end of the day, its great to cozy up and read a good book to your daughter. My daughter loves to read the Minnie 5 Minute Stories… (Big surprise, right? ). So, the moral of the story is… if you give a toddler a Minnie playset, she is sure to want to make some Mini Minnie cupcakes. Are you ready for a fabulous mommy/daughter day? What would you and your daughter do?
