Learn to Love Pinterest | Pinterest Savvy

For the last month, I have been reading, reviewing and studying Melissa Taylor’s book, Pinterest Savvy. Can I just say, how awesome it is? She takes you step by step through creating a Pinterest community, and makes the process simple and easy to follow. Melissa has helped me learn to love Pinterest again.

Love Pinterest

You know, its funny how much I loved Pinterest even before I became a blogger. I used it as my visual bookmark, since I knew my mommy brain would forget exactly where I saw a certain idea. Whether it was meal planning, bookmarking my favorite kid activities, or planning our wedding, Pinterest was my best friend.

When I became a blogger, I abandoned my personal account and started with 1 follower (myself). It was lonely. It was quiet. I had to go out and search for all that great content again, and I had to find a new community. I didn’t know where to start. There I was sitting in front of a screen in the giant abyss of pins, and didn’t know where to look. It’s sad to say, that I actually forgot how to love Pinterest.

Pinterest Community

Six months and almost 6,000 followers later… I LOVE PINTEREST! I love the community, the inspiration, the organization, and let’s be honest… the Flattery! I love when followers repin my work or work that I have curated as good content. It validates what I am doing and makes me feel like I am actually creating a resource for others.

That is one of the reasons I love Pinterest Savvy so much. I love how Melissa has helped me turn my pinterest boards into more than just an account. Its a community. A community I want to grow! In the last month, my Pinterest community has grown by 2,000, and I have Pinterest Savvy to thank for that.

I have learned…
