Finding Dory Magic Sand Craft

Just a few weeks ago my toddler turned three. As her birthday crept closer and closer, I started to almost shake at the idea of putting together a themed birthday party. I am a busy mom with a busy family. Planning an extravagant party is the last priority on my list. However, I do love seeing my daughter’s face light up as she plays with anything “Finding Dory“. In the attempts to make a simple yet awesome Finding Dory party, I decided to try my hand at a few quick and easy ideas. I’ve partnered with Bounty to let go of the fear of mess for this Finding Dory magic sand craft, that is super simple and perfect for a busy mom trying to plan a birthday party.

We’ve been slightly obsessed with Disney•Pixar’s Finding Dory lately. We’ve made some super simple punch, a fun and easy trail mix, and even a delicious jello treat for this special occasion. We love making awesome science experiments and thought that this magic sand craft would be the perfect addition to our Finding Dory activity list.

Magic Sand Instructions

Making Finding Dory magic sand is actually easier than you might think. The first step takes the longest but is super simple. We made ours on a nice pretty day, so we could head outside and spray our sand outdoors. Spread your sand across your trays in a thin layer and spray with your fabric protector.

You will need to do this at least 5-10 times. We let ours dry for about 5-10 minutes in between coats and played with out Finding Dory characters while we waited.

Bounty Finding Dory

We used our new Bounty prints featuring Disney•Pixar’s Finding Dory to clean up any spills and messes before getting started making our fish bowls.

I am pretty sure that my daughter liked the paper towels more than she liked the craft for a little bit. She was so excited about the adorable images of Dory right there on her paper towels.

Making Finding Dory Magic Sand Craft

Making your Finding Dory magic sand fishbowl craft is super fun and easy, even a toddler can do it. Once your sand is dry, all you have to do is pour it into the water and watch it repel the water. We’ve done something very similar before in our magic sand sensory bottles and I think you will love the way these turn out.

The magic sand fishbowls really are magical. They do make a little bit of a mess, but don’t worry, with Bounty you can still have fun and leave the mess to them. Bounty prints featuring Disney•Pixar’s Finding Dory are now available just in time for Disney•Pixar’s Finding Dory, which hits theaters on June 17th.
