We love our homemade essential oil blends and making our own bath products, so when my daughter recently had a Sleeping Beauty Party, I knew that we would have to make some Sleeping Beauty Bath Salts as a party activity & take-home gift.

We’ve previously had a lot of success with sugar scrubs and homemade bath bombs – including ones for grown-ups (like our lemon poppy seed “muffin” and coffee sugar scrubs) and ones that are more kid-friendly like our Happiness at the end of the Rainbow Sugar Scrub and Soap Play Dough (though that one is still a hit with grown-ups). I’m trying to make a new bath product at least every month, and I get a little more adventurous every time!
How To Make a Sleeping Beauty Sugar Scrub
First, gather your materials:
- Sleepy blend (Shared below)
- ¼ cup Himalayan pink salt
- 1 cup Epsom salt
- 1/2 cup dried rose petals
- Mason Jar
(half pint if making one)
- Decorative ribbon
, etc, optional
You can customize the scent of this Sleeping Beauty sugar scrub to suit your own needs and preferences, we decided to go with scents that are proven to be beneficial for relaxation and sleep, helping make the pre-bedtime soak that much more relaxing.
You can buy rose petals already dried, but I love having the excuse to go out and buy a small bouquet to decorate my desk for a few days and then spread the rose petals out on a cookie sheet to dry for a couple of days.
Sleepy Essential Oils Blend:
- 10 drops Lavender
- 5 drops Vetiver
- 5 drops Bergamot
- 5 drops Wild Orange

Simply mix the essential oils and salts in a glass bowl. I avoid using metal or ceramic when making homemade bath products with essential oils.
Gently stir in the rose petals to ensure they are evenly dispersed, but being careful not to break them up.
Scoop the whole mixture into your mason jar.
You can add on additional embellishments to customize the mason jar, as desired. It’s also a good idea to add a small tag or note clarifying which essential oils are in the mixture, especially if you are gifting it. We picked out these gorgeous pink mason jars to keep our Sleeping Beauty bath salts in.
These homemade Sleeping Beauty Bath Salts look so beautiful when added to the bath and would make a gorgeous gift for someone special.
