These cake mix cookies are super simple and totally delicious. You can easily make them after your kids are in bed and what kid wouldn’t love waking up to their elf friend sharing these super tasty treats?!
What You Need to Make Super Simple Cake Mix Elf on a Shelf Cookies
- white cake mix
- 2 eggs room temp
- 1/2 C oil
- 1/3 C powder sugar
- 2 drops of red food coloring
How to Make Super Simple Cake Mix Elf on a Shelf Cookies
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Combine all ingredients except the coloring and the powder sugar.
Mix to combine.
Add in the red food coloring and mix till combined and all the batter is the same color.
In a small bowl, add the powder sugar.
Form dough into little balls by using a small cookie dough scoop
Place a dough ball in the powder sugar
Roll the dough ball in the powder sugar until fully coated
Place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
Bake for 8 minutes.
Remove and let cool on a cookie rack
